Despite being warned by his advisors in ALL CAPS in a letter before his phone call, Trump managed to do the opposite, leading some to believe he misread his instructions. He decided to congratulate him on his re-election, drawing bruising criticism from members of his own party, including a leading senator who scorned the election as a “sham.”
What they didn’t discuss on Tuesday was noteworthy as well: Trump did not raise Russia’s meddling in the U.S. elections or its suspected involvement in the recent poisoning of a former spy in England.
“An American president does not lead the free world by congratulating dictators on winning sham elections,” said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee and has pressed the Trump administration to respond aggressively to Russia’s interference in the U.S. presidential election.
Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, a frequent Trump critic, called the president’s call “odd.” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Trump “can call whomever he chooses” but noted that calling Putin “wouldn’t have been high on my list.”
At the State Department, spokeswoman Heather Nauert said it was “no surprise” that Putin was re-elected, commenting that some people were paid to turn out to vote and opposition leaders were intimidated or jailed. She also cited a preliminary report by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe that said Russia’s election took place in an overly controlled environment that lacked an even playing field for all contenders.
Her comments were notably tougher on Russia than those coming from the White House.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended Trump’s call, and noted that President Barack Obama made a similar call at the time of Putin’s last electoral victory.
“We don’t get to dictate how other countries operate,” Sanders said.
The action and reaction fit a Trump White House pattern of declining to chide authoritarian regimes for undemocratic practices.
Trump himself has long been reluctant to publicly criticize Putin. He said that during their hoped-for meeting the two men would likely discuss Ukraine, Syria and North Korea, among other things.
NRA’s Chris Loesch Tried to Get Me Fired from My Job
You can’t make this up: Chris Loesch of the NRA called up the US Secret Service and tried to get me fired from my job, because I criticized the NRA and his wife for being hypocrites.
Seriously — he actually has been calling the Secret Service up over and over again looking to get me fired. I’m not sure why, as a private citizen that like millions of other people that dislike the NRA, I am a target.
Here’s the problem: I haven’t worked as a consultant for the Secret Service in 20 years, and no longer have anything to do with them whatsoever. Calling them up is only going to annoy them, because I’m neither an employee or contractor.
Still, it raises questions why Chris Loesch would target me of all the people out there to get “fired” from his job? I can only assume its because I’m a visible progressive Jew and he’s such a snowflake that he needs to threaten people with exposure to get his way.
However, this is what the NRA does: they threaten people with violence and exposure to hurt them on a day to day basis. That’s when they aren’t molesting their own kids.
Trump’s Doctors Concerned about His Drug Use Affecting Brain
As we previously reported, Trump has a history of drug abuse, including an addiction to a drug that causes serious mental issues when used over long periods of time. We have now learned that his doctor has asked him to cease taking Propecia, a drug used for balding men to grow more hair as they are worried it’s hurting his health.
Propecia, a simple daily capsule, may help the president preserve his famous hairline. His New York physician, Harold N. Bornstein, had confirmed this with the New York Times, as did the White House.
A source says that this isn’t the first time that Donald Trump was asked to stop taking the drug, and earlier in his Presidency ceased taking the medication after concerns were expressed by his family. However, he immediately started another prescription “within weeks” after worrying his hair was falling out.
What is the problem with Propecia? According numerous studies and articles, it can cause “brain fog” which prevents users from thinking clearly and functioning normally, and often can even perhaps accelerate Alzheimer’s in patients.
“The FDA-approved pill has been called into question, with emerging research and a slew of lawsuits suggesting that finasteride may be more dangerous than previously believed,” reported Men’s Journal. “Users report that its side effects — inability to orgasm, painful erections, chronic depression, insomnia, brain fog, and suicidal thoughts — can last long after patients stop taking the pill.”
Best Friend Omarosa Says Trump Is Suffering From Undeniable ‘Mental Decline’
Omarosa worked in Donald Trump’s White House and now claims he’s anything but a stable genius. She says that his brain is in mental decline in a bombshell new book.
Omarosa Manigault-Newman has known Donald Trump for years, from appearing three times on The Apprentice to working inside the president’s White House. She was unceremoniously canned from her position of communications director for the Office of Public Liaison in Dec. of 2017 and now she’s written a book about her time working for the president. In an exclusive excerpt obtained by the DailyMail.com from her upcoming book Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House, she says the believes his mental health has been in decline since he became our nation’s 45th president
Omarosa, 44, referred to a May of 2017 interview that Trump did with NBC’s Lester Holt and writes that “While watching the interview I realized that something real and serious was going on in Donald’s brain. His mental decline could not be denied. Many didn’t notice it as keenly as I did because I knew him way back when. They thought Trump was being Trump, off the cuff.”
“For the Lester Holt interview, I watched it on a small TV in the upper press room (the lower press room was built on top of the old swimming pool and turned into the briefing room) by the press secretary’s office,” she writes. “Throughout this erratic and contradictory interview, I kept thinking, ‘Oh no! Oh no! This is bad!’ Donald rambled. He spoke gibberish. He contradicted himself from one sentence to the next.”
While Omarosa has harsh things to say about her former boss, she warned fellow contestants on Celebrity Big Brother in Feb. of 2018 that Vice President Mike Pence is even scarier. “Can I just say this? As bad as y’all think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence,” she told her housemates. “We would be begging for days of Trump back if Pence became President, that’s all I’m saying. He’s extreme.”
She added, “I’m Christian, I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.”
