Former NAACP official Rachel Dolezal became infamous for appropriating Black culture. She changed her name to Nkechi Diallo in 2016, a year after she went on television and proclaimed that even though she was born Caucasian, she identified as Black. She resigned from the NAACP after her parents revealed that she was white, and had been lying for a number of years.
Her name slowly disappeared from the media once more scandalous news took over (namely, a reality television star becoming a president). Dolezal’s name is back in the news once again though, as she is being charged with welfare fraud.
According to The Washington Post, Dolezal stands accused of stealing $8,847 in food and child care assistance dating back to August 2015. Court documents that were originally obtained by KHQ-TV can be viewed here.
The investigation into the fraud began in March 2017 when an investigator from the Washington Department of Social and Health Services discovered Dolezal had written and published a book. She is facing up to 15 years in prison.
The investigators researched the book’s publisher and learned “a typical contract would include payments of $10,000 to $20,000 as advances against later royalties,” according to documents.
Until now, Dolezal had been reporting an income less than $500 a month, which came from child support payments.
She hasn’t said if she plans to go to prison identifying as Black or White.
Donald Trump Jr. and Aubrey O’Day Tried to Have A Baby While His Wife Was Pregnant
Donald Trump Jr. and Aubrey O’Day’s affair was much more than a one-night stand, so much so that they even considered the prospect of starting a family together.
Multiple sources confirmed tothat President Donald Trump’s eldest son, 40, and the former Danity Kane member, 34, began an intimate relationship after meeting on the season 5 set of The Celebrity Apprentice in late 2011. The dalliance continued until March 2012, when his wife, Vanessa Trump, found email exchanges between her husband and O’Day and forced them to stop.
Sources say that Vanessa — who filed for divorcefrom President Donald Trump’s eldest son after 13 years of marriage — was devastated when he told her that he planned to leave her for O’Day.
It seems like the former Celebrity Apprentice adviser was the one who started things. A source told Page Six he “pursued [Aubrey]. It was him who chased her,” and, “he told her that his marriage was already in the process of dissolving” in 2011.
Hawaii Emergency Employee Had Issues with Reality, Thought North Korea was Attacking
Employee who sent erroneous missile alert had 10 years of performance issues and had confused real world and practice drills twice before. The preliminary report released on Tuesday from the Federal Communications Commission details the events leading up to a false missile alert sent to mobile phones and television and radio broadcast stations in the state of Hawaii earlier this month.
According to WaPo:”This mistake began when a night-shift supervisor decided to test incoming day-shift workers with a spontaneous drill, the FCC report stated. The supervisor managing the day-shift workers appeared to be aware of the upcoming test but believed it was aimed at the outgoing night-shift workers. As a result, the day-shift manager was not prepared to supervise the morning test, the FCC said.”
According to the FCC report released Tuesday, this worker is the only one who apparently did not understand it was a drill, and this wasn’t the first time.

“I’d ask him if he was feeling alright, and he’d just say ‘ANIMAL!!! HAAAAH!!!!’. That was… that was just Animal, you know?”
Other Muppets were quick to add their own tributes to their deceased colleague, with Miss Piggy stating that Animal was “a driving force in her life”, and the Swedish Chef adding that Animal always knew “how tee bork de bork”.
