WATCHDOG: NRA Russian Dark Money Funded Pro-Trump Ads Illegally

Watchdogs say an unknown amount of Russian dark money funneled through the National Rifle Association helped Donald Trump win the presidency.

The NRA is claiming they only received a few donations from Russia, but refuses to allow its books to be audited.

Robert Maguire is an investigator with the Center for Responsive Politics, which runs opensecrets.org. He said the dark money loophole that allows nonprofits to take limitless donations without reporting the source means we can’t really tell how much foreign money was spent in the 2016 presidential election.

“It’s safe to assume that what we’re seeing is the tip of the iceberg,” Maguire said. “The problem is that there’s no way to track that.”

But that figure does not include large payments from U.S. subsidiaries of companies owned by Russian oligarchs. Investigators have found such payments went to others in Trump’s orbit.

Direct foreign funding of American campaigns is illegal and could be politically toxic.

Maguire said the problem is that it might also be invisible.

And he pointed out that in the 2016 presidential race, the NRA spent three-times what it had supporting Mitt Romney in 2012 – and the money came just as big GOP donors were distancing themselves from Trump.

“The NRA spent more money than it has in any previous cycle,” Maguire said. “Without the NRA stepping into that vacuum, it would have severely impacted the chances that he would have won the election.”

Th

Maguire said the NRA got what it paid for. After the Parkland shooting, Trump said he might back some gun-control measures – until the National Rifle Association got involved.

“The NRA in a matter of weeks had two private meetings with the president,” Maguire observed; “and we saw those sort of initiatives kind of fade away.”

MAGA Border Militia Weirdo Has Been Plotting Assassinations for years.

The leader of an armed militia that’s been detaining migrants at the border was just arrested over the weekend, but he’s been on the FBI’s radar since at least October 2017 for allegedly plotting assassinations, according to federal documents unsealed Monday.

The FBI received a tip in late 2017 that Larry Mitchell Hopkins, who heads the United Constitutional Patriots, claimed he was training his group to assassinate liberal billionaire George Soros, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton because of their “support of antifa,” and was stockpiling guns despite being a felon.

After the civil liberties group called on New Mexico’s governor and attorney general to investigate the militia’s activities, Hopkins was arrested for possessing a firearm as a felon, which is itself a felony.

Hopkins, who also goes by the alias Johnny Horton Jr., has been described as the “commander” of the United Constitutional Patriots, a militia group that has recently been detaining asylum-seeking families at the southern border, drawing outcry from local politicians and activists.

In a court filing Monday, FBI special agent David S. Gabriel said FBI agents “immediately observed approximately 10 firearms” upon entering what Hopkins told them was his “office,” inside his home in northern New Mexico in November 2017. Per the filing, Hopkins told the officers the guns belonged to his “common law wife.”

Hopkins has prior convictions for felony possession of a firearm and felony impersonation of a peace officer.

Videos posted to Facebook showed members of the militia rounding up hundreds of migrants at a time at gunpoint, including many children, forcing them to kneel in the dirt, before turning them over to Border Patrol.

Earlier this month, UCP set up a base near the border, claiming that Border Patrol had asked for their help.

In a statement last week, Border Patrol said that they do “not endorse private groups or organizations taking enforcement matters into their own hands.”

How Ronna Romney McDaniel Bribed Her Way Into Brigham Young University

It was the late 90, and Ronna Romney, named after her great grandmother, was looking for a college to attend. She had though she was shoe-in to BYU, because she was a legacy and everyone knew her father and uncle.

However her graded were less than stellar, with a grade-point average of a a C. She additionally hadn’t done much activities, and the school felt they would be criticized if they let her in. Her school shut down a few years ago, and we couldn’t reach anyone there to comment.

She called her uncle Mitt immediately, according to a family member who shared the story with me over Twitter and got my attention.

And he immediately got into action defending his favorite niece, according to the relative.

He called the President of BYU and had a conversation with him: His niece really wanted to go to BYU, and was there something he could do?

Cecil O. Samuelson, a friend of Mitt, made it clear that a donation of a million or so, and a renaming of their business institute to a Romney would make sense, especially if the niece was a business major.

So Mitt, thinking still of doing a Presidential campaign in 2000 or Gubernatorial Campaign, decided he would give a few million here and there to help the University — and it would help his reputation enormously to be seen more than a business raider.

Ronna Romey 2012

Strangely, the next week, Ronna Romney was accepted into BYU.

She wasn’t much of a student, and decide to take the English program, feeling it would “be easy. She graduated with a BA in english a few years later, without honors or any notation.

So, is the person who claims to be a relative of the Romney’s telling the truth? Sure looks like the timeline works, that the donation happened exactly as she was making choices for colleges, and happened seemingly only after she was accepted in BYU.

Lucy Parsons Project Racists Protest Pakistanian Middle Eastern Cafe in San Fransisco

Looks like the GOP can’t help funding fake “progressive” organizations under the guise of fighting for black rights. What’s the new “cause?” A half dozen white women have been daily protesting a local Middle Eastern Cafe owned by a Manny Yekutiel, a man of Pakistani Jewish Descent whose family fled persecution in Pakistan.

Manny Yekutiel opened his eponymous Manny’s in November, calling the Middle Eastern cafe and restaurant in downtown San Francisco a “civic social gathering space.” His goal for the Mission District eatery was “to create a central, accessible and affordable place to go to become a better informed and more involved citizen,” he told the San Francisco Examiner.

Manny’s has earned praise for hosting talks with speakers on issues ranging from Black Lives Matter to urban sustainability.

But Yekutiel, who is Jewish, is being protested weekly, accused of espousing “racist, Zionist, pro-Israel ideals.” His café has been vandalized and painted with anti-Semitic and anti-Israel slogans over and over again — mainly by White racists.

The only allegation seemingly against him is that he is Jewish. Yekutiel has even said he does not support everything the Israeli government does and disagrees with its treatment of the Palestinians — and has many friends who are Palestinian.

Yekutiel reportedly has met nearly all the requirements of United to Save the Mission, a coalition of more than a dozen neighborhood nonprofits and activist groups. They include bilingual signage and staff, moderate prices (a cup of coffee is $1.75) and food prepared by a nonprofit employing homeless, formerly incarcerated and low-income community members, who earn all the food revenue. Community groups can use the space for free.
